Are you bragging? As for your comment we don't use redwood to make fibers or paper. The biomass you speak of takes hundreds of years to produce. with a two year growth before harvesting bamboo you can imaging how much biomass could be produced from say 150 harvesting seasons. So Mr. Dickman get your head out and wake the heck up. Wouldn't this in courage deforestation to plant bamboo forest (if not does that mean you will remove habitat when harvesting), if you plant new bamboo forest how would this affect the wildlife in the area. Deer, Kangaroo (in Aus), goats, curtain bird species, antelope depand where you are. This might seem environmentally friendly but deforesting and replacing with bamboo will devastate eco systems and habitat with native species (the only place you can do this is in Asia and everyone knows how good they treat the environment) Read more Reply Barskor1 Barskor12 weeks ago The deer and kangaroo can eat bamboo goats most definitely can eat bamboo birds do nest in bamboo forests so it will not change as they have 2 years in which to build a nest and raise babies before the harvest cycle. As deforestation for lumber will not stop taking one of the previous areas for bamboo means you can prevent 40 other areas of regular trees from being harvested as the first bamboo plot will be supplying the needed materials the wood used to provide. Reply View all 4 replies Lil Bean Lil Bean6 months ago Pandas are a very fragile species, they're easily disturbed when procreating. Basically, they're used for environmental scams by big lobbies. In my opinion, environmental organisations could better focus themselves on topic that actually matter.. Reply 1 Nayr747 Nayr7472 days ago The only reason they're going extinct is because we destroyed most of their habitat. They have no problem breeding. People just repeat that myth because they're ignorant. Pandas are perfectly adapted to their environment that they evolved in 2 million years ago. It's the same reason most life on this planet is being wiped out. Humans are actually the planet's sixth mass extinction event (Holocene extinction). Reply 1 Azifah an amillah Azifah an amillah8 months ago how cost the machine for producing textiles from bamboo? Reply Gene Madd Gene Madd8 months ago I'm hooked Reply Love Lies Bleeding Mini Natural Farm Love Lies Bleeding Mini Natural Farm9 months ago Trees send roots to very deep underground to obtain minerals that may not be available on the surface. When a deciduous tree sheds its leaves, it will replenish the top soil with a lot of minerals. Bamboos cannot do that cause they have very shallow roots. So, bamboos can get whatever available only from the top soil. If you keep harvesting bamboos, you will end up using up everything available in the top soil. Bamboos also do not control soil erosion like trees. The only solution for human sustainability is to use as little natural resources as possible and remember not to flush your toilet cause you are flushing all the important nutrients obtained from the land to the sea. Read more Reply 2 View all 3 replies Sundude Sundude3 months ago Wait, but whenever I see bamboo, the ground all around it is completely covered in leaves. That would solve the nutrient problem. Also, if we made bamboo farms, could we just have grass surround the bamboo plants to stop soil erosion. If I am wrong, someone please correct me. He said to us, cut the entire bamboo stems just below the culms to form a cup and plant it immediately and add water until a small proportion overflows the top and wets the soil where the culms are planted into it and right through it. Then all the planted bamboo cuttings will start to sprout roots and runners and rhizomes at the edges.
